As of today, after a great opening weekend and a lot of rain our thornless blackberries are picked out for a few days. We should be opening the field again by Thursday but please stay tuned in to our Facebook or website page for updates as our blackberries usually rebound quickly, our field should reopen by Thursday July 7 for more Blackberry picking. If there is no daily update always check first before coming out on blackberries as it is a very delicate fruit.
To have a better idea for our season in general, the calendar for the next few weeks should look similar to the following but always remember weather plays a huge role in everything agricultural. So if in doubt on any given day, please don’t hesitate to call or text before you travel out for something in particular. We do always try to have our Facebook and Website updated daily, but again if you don’t see what you are looking for as being available, please reach out to us.
July– Our Bakery will be open every Saturday and Sunday with our delicious Apple Cider Donuts, Fried Apple Pies, Cider, Cider Slushies, Apple Fritters and more. Activities included on July weekends, weather permitting, are our Jumping Pillow and Playground. We will also have as many local fruits and vegetables available for purchase in our Apple House as certain local varieties become available. Pick your own Blackberries SHOULD be available every Tuesday through Sunday through mid August. We close every Monday for field maintenance. Again it all depends on the weather, if you don’t see a specific update for that day please call or text ahead before you travel out to confirm conditions. We will possibly have some early Apples already picked available mid July like Lodi and Wolf River, again if you don’t see it as fact please check with us.
August- As soon as Pick Your Own Apples are available then the Bakery and certain activities will be open 7 days a week as well! But again, weather plays a big part in everything so always check and communicate if unsure. The Apples that will be available for U-Pick and We-Pick in early to mid August are Gala and Sweetie, Mid to late August Honeycrisp and Summerset. The varieties we will have available for We Pick Only in August will be Ruby Mac, Johnny Mac, Gingergold, and Zestar.
September- By September everything should be in full swing, 7 days a week 9-6 daily unless other wise posted. Apples (almost every variety imaginable) , Pears, Peaches, THE BEST BAKERY ITEMS, Farm Activities, Weekend BBQ, Weekend Vendors Galore, Every canned good you can imagine, Apple Peelers, Corers etc, Honey, the best Fall Vegetables, lots of apple dog treats and much more! This will continue though October at least! September through October is the time to pay attention to all updates as it is VERY busy and some of the best varieties can go fast.
